Program Description

The HWPA PatientCare for THC Consultation course is an ACPE Accredited Pharmacy THC Certificate Program designed to provide pharmacy professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for THC consultation in a patient care setting. This program delves into the science, regulation, and patient communication strategies essential for incorporating THC consultation into pharmacy practice.

As THC products become more commonly used for medical purposes, pharmacists must be equipped with the expertise to counsel patients effectively. The course covers a range of topics including the pharmacology of THC, legal and ethical considerations, patient assessment, and evidence-based guidelines for THC use in various therapeutic contexts.

CPE Monitor

CPE Monitor is a national, collaborative effort by NABP and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. It will also offer state boards of pharmacy the opportunity to electronically authenticate the CPE units completed by their licensees, rather than requiring pharmacists and technicians to submit their proof of completion statements upon request or for random audits. This initiative will streamline processes for pharmacy practitioners to ensure they are maintaining professional competency requirements. CPE Monitor is expected to save pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, state boards of pharmacy, and CPE providers time and money.

How it works

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will receive a unique ID after setting up their e-Profile with NABP. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are now required to provide their NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to the provider when they register for CPE or submit a request for credit. The system will then direct electronic data from ACPE-accredited providers to ACPE and then to NABP, ensuring that CPE credit is officially verified by the providers. Once information is received by NABP, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to log in to access information about their completed CPE activities.

How to register for CPE Monitor

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are asked to obtain their NABP e-Profile ID now at www.MyCPEMonitor.net. To accomplish this, complete and accurate information must be provided. Any errors may result in unrecorded or mis-recorded CPE credit.

How to obtain credit

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are now required to submit their NABP e-Profile ID and birth date to receive credit for any ACPE-accredited CPE session. It is the responsibility of the CPE attendee to provide their correct NABP e-Profile ID and birth date. If incorrect information is provided, the record will be rejected by CPE Monitor and the CPE credit will not be awarded.

Benefitting Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

CPE Monitor will provide a secure, central system that maintains and tracks all continuing education credit from ACPE-accredited providers and allows you to monitor your progress and maintain records. Your NABP e-Profile will serve as the home for your ACPE-accredited continuing pharmacy education credit, allowing you to easily monitor and maintain your license/registration. Note: The 60-day deadline is to allow sufficient time to correct incomplete or incorrect information and is not a grace period.
